Much of Ben Kalb's pre-infomercial television career came from his role as one of the producers of the famed syndicated television magazine show "PM Magazine." He went on the direct and produce other local, syndicated and network television magazine shows. Ben produced a series of mini-infomercial shows in the late 80's for a national cable network and produced and directed his first 30-minute infomercial in 1990, a show that ended up running nationally for over 2 years.

Ben Kalb then signed on as a director for FOX Television’s prime time show "Totally Hidden Video." After that season, he was asked to produce another infomercial. That one also rolled out to national success. At that point, Ben made it clear:
"Okay, I'm an infomercial producer and my company will specialize in infomercials and direct response commercials."
After several years in Los Angeles, Ben moved his company to Las Vegas in the fall of 1998 to be part of a new television studio complex. The following year he was given the Nevada Governor's Appreciation Award. He has since expanded and moved into his own studio space.
In addition to producing and directing, Ben writes his own infomercials:
"I originally hired writers for some of my shows but I ended up re-writing so many scripts that I decided that since I study the product so thoroughly and know exactly what kind of show I want to produce and direct, I now write all of my own scripts."
